MNL in NL Archival Project Information Session of November 4

Alhamdulillah, on November 4th, we had an online information session to brief our community about the Muslim Narratives and Lives in NL Archival Project.

Community Announcement - Eid Al Adha

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahu Wa Barakatuhu.

We are pleased to inform you that the month of Dhul Hijja began as of Wednesday, July 22nd. All praise and thanks are due to Allah swt for blessing us with the privilege of reaching this month. We seek His help to make the best use of our time during these blessed days.

Please kindly note that:

  • Arafat will insha'Allah be next Thursday (July 30th). Accordingly, the first day of Eid Al Adha will be next Friday (July 31st)
  • MANAL will insha'Allah organize 4 consecutive sessions of Eid prayers at Masjid Al Noor. The first 3 sessions will be for brothers only; and the last session will be for both sisters and brothers.
  • Due to public health regulations, maximum capacity for each Eid prayer session will be 50 people.
  • Admission to the mosque for Eid prayers will be subject to online pre-registration.
  • Only those who are older than 12 years old and fulfill health & travel related criteria will be eligible to pre-register and attend the Eid prayers.
  • There will be no Jumah prayers at the mosque on Friday, July 31st.

Online registration links and rules for Eid prayers will insha'Allah be e-mailed and posted at MANAL Website at 10 pm on Tuesday, July 28th. So, please stay tuned.

Mosque Reopening for Fajr and Maghrib Prayers

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We are pleased to inform you that, starting from this Sunday, July 5th, our mosque will be reopening for Fajr and Maghrib prayers.

Anyone who is 12 years and older are welcome to attend these daily prayers if they:

  • are feeling well and not showing Covid-19 symptoms
  • have not traveled in the last 14 days
  • have not come in contact with a case of Covid-19 in the last 14 days
  • are not in a high risk group due to a serious underlying medical condition

When coming to and attending the mosque, please make sure to:

  • have wudu at home (no wudu will be allowed at mosque washrooms)
  • bring your own mask and prayer mat
  • enter from the main door
  • register at the entrance by signing your name and contact information
  • place your shoes in a plastic bag and keep them with you
  • sanitize your hands as you enter and leave
  • keep physical distancing and avoid socializing (no handshaking or hugging)
  • never smoke in and around mosque premises
  • never offer or share food
  • exit from the back door in an orderly fashion as soon as the prayer is over
  • respectfully follow the instructions of our volunteers

Community Announcement - Registration Links for Jumah

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

 

Assalamu Alaikum.

This Friday (July 3rd), we will insha'Allah have two (2) sessions of Jumah prayers at our mosque. In compliance with public health regulations, each session will be at limited capacity:

  • First Session (Only for Brothers)                : 1.10 pm - 1.30 pm
  • Second Session (Brothers AND Sisters)    : 2.00 pm - 2.20 pm

If you wish to attend any of these Jumah sessions, you MUST pre-register using the corresponding link at the end of this announcement.

Further information about mosque attendance rules can be found in the attached posters (in Arabic and English).

Please note that you can not register, and you can not attend the mosque if you:

  • are not feeling well and showing COVID 19 symptoms
  • have traveled outside the country in the last 14 days
  • have come in contact with a case of suspected or confirmed COVID-19 in the last 14 days
  • are in a high-risk group due to a serious underlying chronic medical condition

If you are over 60 and have any medical condition other than specified above, you should consider not attending.

MANAL is not responsible and will not be held liable for any congregant sustaining harm, injury, or illness as a result of their attendance.

Your information is collected only for registration and contact tracing purposes.

Once successfully registered, you are not allowed to transfer your reservation to another session or person.

If you do not show up despite being registered, you will not be eligible to register next Friday. If you did so last week, again, you are not eligible to re-register and attend this week.

Before heading to the mosque for your Jumah session, please make sure to have:

  • Your own prayer mat. You will not be allowed in the prayer hall without a prayer mat.
  •  Your online reservation confirmation & Photo ID: You will be required to present these to MANAL volunteers. Otherwise, you will not be let in.
  • Your face mask. You will not be allowed on the premises without a face mask
  • Wudu at home. You will not be allowed to use mosque washrooms for taking wudu

As you reach the mosque, please:

  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before the prayer time
  • If driving, park at the lot by the NTV station making sure that you don't forget your mask, prayer mat, registration confirmation and photo ID in your car 
  • Line up outside the mosque parking gate maintaining physical distancing. You will be admitted after MANAL volunteers administer screening and checking in procedures.
  • Follow the instructions of MANAL volunteers and remember they are giving their time to ensure our safety. Offensive and threatening behavior by any member of the congregation will not be tolerated.
  • When instructed, present your photo ID and your pre-registration confirmation.
  • ALWAYS WEAR YOUR FACE MASK, KEEP 2 METERS APART FROM ONE ANOTHER & AVOID SOCIALIZING (i.e. NO HANDSHAKING OR HUGGING)
  • NEVER SMOKE IN / AROUND MOSQUE PREMISES
  • DO NOT OFFER OR SHARE FOOD OR DRINK IN / AROUND MOSQUE PREMISES

As you enter the Mosque, please:

  • Take off your shoes and place them in a MANAL provided plastic bag
  • Sanitize your hands using MANAL provided sanitizers
  • Follow the instructions to proceed to the prayer hall, ALWAYS WEARING YOUR FACE MASK, KEEPING 2 METERS APART AND AVOIDING SOCIALIZING (i.e. NO HANDSHAKING OR HUGGING)
  • Find the next available numbered spot and place your personal prayer mat
  • Keep your shoes bag next to you.
  • NEVER SIT OR PRAY IN CROSS TAPED AREAS
  • Do not use electric outlets to charge devices.
  • BE READY TO LEAVE RIGHT AFTER FARD (i.e. pray Sunnah and Nafl at your home)

 As you leave the Mosque premises, please:

  • Wait your turn to exit from the back door, ALWAYS WEARING YOUR FACE MASK, KEEPING 2 METERS APART AND AVOIDING SOCIALIZING (i.e. NO HANDSHAKING OR HUGGING)
  • Take your shoes bag with you and put them back at the back-door landing area.
  • Sanitize your hands with MANAL provided sanitizers
  • Proceed to your car, ALWAYS KEEPING 2 METERS APART AND AVOIDING SOCIALIZING (i.e. NO HANDSHAKING OR HUGGING)
  • Drive off in an organized manner to facilitate emptying the parking lot.
